![]() Drive to a remote corner of the island, and you often can't do anything once you get there. But this freedom to explore and enjoy Ibiza (and later Hawaii) is limited. Leveling these aspects of your character enhances your Global level, and earning new levels unlocks new content in the game like avatar customization options, car upgrades, and more. As you play, you level up meters that gauge your progression in four separate categories: Competition, Discovery, Collection, and Social. ![]() You can drive almost anywhere in Ibiza, buy and customize new cars, help random strangers for cash, and interact with other players cruising around the island. If you're the kind of gamer who can tolerate such issues, you'll be more likely to appreciate the ideas in Test Drive. There isn't even a camera invert option for wandering around in the first-person view. My car has quite literally dropped into the ocean when I was nowhere near water. Environments popped-in when I drove across the island. It crashed when I tried to change the paint job in my new apartment. Ugly character models and bad voice acting are just a few of the many shortcomings found in Test Drive Unlimited 2. The voice clips will annoy at first and then grow to intolerable levels as they're repeated constantly. These antiquated models "come to life" with some bad voice acting, too. Although driving is the most important aspect of Test Drive, the characters look and animate poorly. (Funny thing is, I shouldn't be hating the game. These opening cutscenes serve two purposes: they introduce you to Test Drive's story, and they illustrate just how atrocious the character models are. why even sell the game if it doesn't work? With that being said, since I see it happening to a good number of people. It would be nice if somebody made a fix for this game to run on Windows 10 without freezing / crashing, but I know it will never happen. Yeah I know the game is ancient, but that doesn't justify the bs freezing going on. It's sad that I have to revert to the painful performance of the PS3 to play a game that I already paid for here on Steam. This isn't the only game that acts up either, there are others. My level of pisstocity at this point is through the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ roof since this is literally one of my favorite racing games and now I can't even play the damn game because of this "supposedly superb" operating system. I even turned on Nvidia adaptive V-Sync as recommended by others, and still nothing :D So I followed some threads on here and tried lowering my settings and even ran the game at 1280x720, plays the game for about an hour and then freezes. I actually had to sign out back to the login screen of Windows to stop the game and then log back in. So I alt-tabbed and that did nothing, I had to hit ctrl-alt-delete and select task manager and I tried closing the TDU2 app, did nothing, tried bringing up the task manager, nothing. I upgraded to Windows 10 a few weeks ago and tried playing this again with Nvidia surround everything on high at 5760x1080, it ran and eventually froze up after like 5 minutes. Okay, this game runs flawlessly on Windows 7, no issues.
