![]() Now with the new Paperwhite I get the best of both worlds. The warm light is that good that I used the Oasis which I didn't like, over my old Paperwhite which other than the micro-usb I loved. I bought it anyway and that coupled with the terrible battery life saw me selling it as soon as another option with the warm light came out. This was inexcusable to me when the thing came out in 2019. If you use a fold over case then flipping the Oasis direction when switching hands is annoying. The page turn buttons sound nice in theory but in practice the shape and button spacing mean they aren't that great. By contrast the new Paperwhite seems like I will get a couple of weeks battery where the Oasis would have been a couple of days. I can't count the number of times I would pick up the Kindle Oasis and it would be dead and so I just would use the Kindle app on my phone. The Oasis has a truly terrible battery life. The main functional difference between the Oasis and previous Paperwhites which would actually make me consider a Oasis is the warm light. New Paperwhite is better than newest Oasis in every way other than Oasis feels more premium because of aluminum.
